Raising Up Christian Kids of Culture

PRESCHOOL • ELEMENTARY • MIDDLE SCHOOL

WELCOMING YOU HOME !

Good Shepherd Lutheran School is more than an academic institution and more than a faith based community. We are a family. There is a palpable love of God, learning and each other on campus, felt by students, faculty and visitors alike.

Since the 1960's our mission has been to create a positive, loving and Christian environment for learning, where academic excellence is achieved by all students. In 2018, Good Shepherd blended ministries with First Lutheran to offer a full middle school in addition to the existing, exemplary preschool and elementary school programs.

Good Shepherd has designed its curriculum, K-8, to be aligned with and exceed the California Department of Education Model Curriculum Standards and State Framework.

Good Shepherd students consistently score above the national average on the NWEA MAP tests. These high scores reflect our dedication to excellence and our students’ achievements in meeting high academic standards. However, we will never base enrollment on test scores. As a ministry, we believe the struggling learner needs individualized attention as much as the advanced learner.

Our students learn to embrace diversity and thrive in a small, multi-cultural setting, with an average class size of fourteen students. We celebrate our differences as we recognize each individual is a child of God with unique gifts.

All teachers and staff at Good Shepherd Lutheran School are skilled professionals and practicing Christians, committed to quality education. Serving as positive role models, our staff employs consistent techniques that convey respect, caring, and high expectations for student behavior and achievement.

We provide an affordable, high-quality, private school education in a Christ-centered atmosphere. Discounts are available for church members, and CCRC is accepted for both qualifying students in preschool - Junior Kindergarten, and  daycare for school aged children.

Students strive to reach their greatest potential in a safe and nurturing environment, learn to demonstrate mutual respect, work cooperatively to achieve clearly stated goals, value life-long learning, and prepare for a productive role in a democratic and Christian environment. They graduate prepared for success in the high school of their choice and beyond.

Many graduates return as adult volunteers, parents and staff. Good Shepherd is family  -  Welcome Home!
