Welcome to the Koala Class! The Koalas is an introduction to academics with activities that are modified to fit the needs and interests of the children. In the Koala class students learn about letter and number formation using a combination of Handwriting Without Tears and Montessori materials such as sandpaper letters/numbers and sand tray. Students also learn phonetic sounds, in doing so we set the foundation for reading. Our students have access to a variety of fine motor activities to strengthen their pincer grasp. We also incorporate art, STEAM activities, sensory play and dramatic play to create a developmentally appropriate learning environment.
